Betty Levine wrote this book after growing up on a farm, working 30 years in the publishing field in NYC, and then after a second career managing the Woodstock, NY pick up site for Threshold Farm Biodynamic CSA for 10 years. She says the book was inspired by members repeated questions: What do I do with this vegetable? How can I store it? Can I freeze this? This book attempts to answer all of these types of questions. Book- "An Endless Harvest: Preserving and Using Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs" tells us what is and what to do with the various vegetables, fruits and herbs often provided by a CSA. It includes how to take care of them to maintain optimum freshness, recipes, nutritional value, storage and ideas on extending their life as well as an introduction on the growing CSA movement. Order online at www.anendlessharvest.com for $15.95 or organize a bulk order of over 30 copies for a wholesale price of $10 through bettylevine@earthlink.net.
Rose "Mirabai" Lord is a wife, mother of three grown sons, grandmother and nurse. She has been studying the relationship between food and peace since 1991. Book- "What I've Learned About Food and Peace" proposes that mankind needs to make a correction in the way we interact with the earth and its harvest and that a conscious shift in the way we look at food can be the catalyst for attitudinal changes that will bring greater peace, understanding and contentment into our lives. Through this link: http://mysite.verizon.net/richlord/foodandpeace/
